Building Leadership

Suzie Martin serves as principal of Liberty View Elementary. While she is a new face to the LVE community, she brings a wealth of experience in elementary education and school leadership. Her career began in the classroom as an elementary teacher and later expanded into roles as a peer coach, vice principal and principal. Across each of these roles, Martin has focused on fostering adult learning alongside student learning—emphasizing the importance of safe, supportive classrooms, high expectations and the development of caring, responsible students.

From her first visit to Liberty View, Martin was struck by the welcoming spirit of the staff and faculty. She believes that same sense of warmth is extended to families each day—through morning greetings, visits to the library or spirited PTO events. For Martin, this strong sense of community is at the heart of what makes Liberty View special.

Martin maintains an open-door policy but is often found in hallways, classrooms or outside greeting students and families. She values partnership with parents and caregivers and is committed to building strong relationships in support of every student’s success.

Martin and her husband have three daughters and have experienced the adventures of Navy life before settling in the Kansas City area, where they enjoy being close to family and friends. Now, as Liberty View becomes her new home, Martin looks forward to getting to know the students, staff and families that make the school such a strong and connected community.
